James 1:2, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” Temptations means trials, and tests. So, you can read it like, ……………..into divers temptations, tests and trials. Notice that James very clearly says that temptations are not joyful. God is not a sadist. He is not telling you to feel good about temptation. Temptations, tests and trials are not joyful. What James is saying is to COUNT IT or CONSIDER IT, as though it were joy. In other words, TREAT it as joy. If you do not count it as joy, you will REACT to temptation, and when you react to it, you go down to the level of it. That is the most normal, immediate thing that you want to do.
