The Bible was inspired by God Himself, and because of that, the Scripture is profitable to you and me for biblical doctrine or teaching. Scripture is good for reproof and correction. The way you and I live and think needs to be reproved and corrected from time to time. Ideas we have about certain doctrines need to be reproved and corrected, based on what the Bible teaches about these doctrines. Scripture is for instruction in righteousness. We need to learn what Scripture says about righteousness so we can put away sin-consciousness and enjoy our right standing with God.
