The symbol of Christianity for the early Church would be the FISH. In the first days of the Church, people were not allowed to draw crossed dud to persecution of Christians. Instead, they would draw a fish symbol to show what they believed. Therefore, the fish became a symbol of Christianity. This symbol represented the crucifixion and resurrection in the Greek as I understand it. So, notice that in Luke 11:11 Jesus contrasted a fish representing Himself and a serpent representing the devil…”….if he ask for a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?” If you ask for the Holy Ghost He is not going to give you a demon instead.
