Sometimes we can learn a lot from the Word by looking at it DOES NOT SAY, for instance in 1 John 5:14, it DOES NOT SAY, And if we ask any thing according to his will, AND WE HAVE A GOOD FEELING ABOUT IT. GOD HEARS US. It does NOT SAY, AND WE ARE SINCERE, GOD HEARS US. It simply says that if we ask anything according to his will He hears us. Many people work themselves into an emotional pitch. The tears flow, the heart is palpitating just right, the adrenaline was flowing. They would pray something similar to, “Oh Lord, just have mercy on me. I’m so unworthy. I don’t deserve these blessings, but God, have mercy on me.” I am not making fun, too many literally pray that way.
