(Hebrews 3:12-4:2) The Israelites who were delivered from Egyptian bondage were given the opportunity to pass into the land that God had promised them. Because of UNBELIEF, they refused to take God at His Word, and they wandered around in the Wilderness for 40 years, and area that could normally be crossed in an estimated 21 days. FOR UNTO US in Hebrews 4:2 is talking about us now, to whom this new covenant is written. Notice, “For unto US was the gospel preached, as well as unto them; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” THIS IS THE KEY. You HAVE to MIX God’s Word with faith for it to profit you.
