Many times, people do not remember that senses change, emotions change, and everything that they can experience with their five senses changes. Any time you allow your senses to dictate to you where you are with God, you have already lost the battle. For example, someone may say, “I felt like the Lord heard my prayer.” In reality what they probably are saying is that most of the time they didn’t FEEL like the Lord heard them. We need to get our minds renewed to the Bible fact that when we pray, we KNOW God hears us because He tells us in His Word that He hears us. Being caught up with what you experience through your senses destroys many people’s faith. They are looking to the circumstances, not to God, and in the things of God, you have to FLY BY THE INSTRUMENTS!
