God told Moses, “I’ll tell you what I want you to do. Pick one man from each of the 12 tribes and send them out into this land to spy it out.” God is so good and is so gracious that He does not just put you into something. He lets you go in and look at it. He wanted the children of Israel to see the land for themselves. Remember that these people were NOT born again. They were NOT filled with the Spirit, so they could not walk by the Spirit. They had to walk by their SENSES. That was why God told them to check the land out–so they could see that it was as good as He had said it was.
