Numbers 13, the Israelites hadn’t shot one arrow or threw one spear, and they were already confessing that the people in the land were stronger than they were. They were already confessing that they were unable to take the land, just like some people today say things like, “I can’t do that.” “God probably won’t heal me.” “God is not going to bless me.” They talked themselves out of the things of God. Thing about it. Here is Almighty God, who visited those devasting plagues upon Egypt to set the Children of Israel free. He caused the Red Sea to part so that the Israelites could cross to dry land, then drowned the Egyptian army that was chasing them when the Egyptians tried to cross.
