Peter explained that what they were hearing—people speaking in other tongues—was exactly what Joel prophesied in the Old Testament. THIS IS THAT, Peter said. Peter continued this sermon in verse 33: “therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.” The Holy Ghost cannot be seen in the natural. However, the RESULT OF ONE being filled with the Holy Ghost can be seen and heard: people speaking in other tongues.
