We should never take a segment of Scripture out of its context and try to apply it to something to which it does not relate. For example, it is ridiculous to read in the Bible, “Judas went out and hung himself, ” and say that verse gives you license to go out and hang yourself. In reading the Word, you need to determine: 1. Is the Scripture speaking literally or allegorically. 2. the context of the verse in order to resolve correct meaning. 3. What other Scripture has to say about the same subject. In applying these “tests,” you have to conclude that this passage of Scripture does NOT prove that being filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues is NOT for everyone.
