If they had already received ALL that was available to them, Jesus would not have inst4ruct4d them to wait for the promise of the Holy Ghost. Later on, in Paul’s travels to Ephesus, the book of Acts supports this point. Paul asks some disciples in Acts 19:2, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?” Whether these people were saved or not when Paul met them was not the question. the spiritual significance of this verse is the question itself. If they had received all there was to the ministry of the Holy Ghost when they believed, why would Paul ask, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost SINCE ye believed?” There was obviously something more.
