Tongues literally manifested in all the previous scripture references, Acts: 2:4; 10:44-47; 19:6. In a fourth instance, when Peter and John prayed for Philip’s Samarian converts (Acts 8:14-24), there is no mention of tongues. But there was an obvious sign to Simon the sorcerer when he “saw that through laying of of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money (Acts 8:18) Simon offered Peter and John money to buy the Holy Ghost’s gift. And Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:22 that tongues are a sign to unbelievers. so for Simon to have SEEN that the Holy Ghost was given, there must have been a sign: something visible/tangible or audible in the physical realm.
