In the Old Testament there were seven different giftings manifested and in operation. But, on the Day of Pentecost, the seven gifts were expanded to bring to a total of nine. These two additions were TONGUES and INTERPRETATIONS (not translation…this is important to realize) OF TONGUES. These two supernatural manifestations are the mark of the “Church Age,” (Mark 16:17), a sign to the unbeliever (1 Corinthians 14:22), used to edify the Church (1 Corinthians 14:4,5) and to intercede to our Heavenly Father (Romans 8:25).
