The NEXT KEY in understanding true spiritual warfare: recognizing the identity of whom our battle is against. Paul writes in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Notice that Paul begins this scripture with the phrase; “For we wrestle….” From the very outset of the verse, Paul makes a very strong, pointed, and dramatic statement.
