In years gone by, if they didn’t understand events or the lack of power in Christian lives, they blamed somebody else or blamed God. If they didn’t understand anything, it was “God’s sovereign will.” Today, we are starting to accept responsibility; we are starting to judge ourselves so that victory can come into our lives. In Psalm 134, those worshipers on the “night shift,” those “servants of the Lord which stand by night,” got tired and sleepy and started slacking up on the job. And they were told to start lifting up their hands. They weren’t really praising God, just going through the motions and, consequently, they got tired and sleepy.
