As Paul defines the different “levels” of demon spirits, he then goes on with “the rulers of the darkness of this world.” The Greek word “kosmokrateros” it is a compound word formed from “kosmos” and “kratos.” “Kosmos” denotes order or arrangement, and the word “kratos” has to do with raw power. When they are compounded into the new word it depicts RAW POWER THAT HAS BEEN HARNESSED AND PUT INTO SOME KIND OF ORDER! This word was technically used by the ancient Greeks to describe certain aspects of the military. the military was filled with young men who had a lot of natural ability…RAW POWER. But, in order for that RAW POWER to be effective, it had to be harnessed and organized (kosmos).
