It is clear from Revelation 12:9 that the terms “dragon” and “serpent” are used interchangeably in reference to satan’s twisted, demented, and perverted nature. By employing both of these pictures, the Word presents the devil as a deadly, poisonous, ready-to-strike-and-kill creature. The next biblical example of the devil can be found in what is traditionally called “The Lord’s Prayer.” which is found in Matthew 6:13.
