Looking at the symbols and types of our enemy, starting with “adversary” which is extremely important as we attempt to understand the devil’s mode of operation. It is taken from the Greek word ‘antidikos’ which is a compound of the Greek words ANTI and DIKOS. ANTI simply means AGAINST. However, in the older and more classical Greek language, it was used to denote the mental condition of a man or woman who was on the edge of insanity. This, in fact, was a terribly dangerous person who would do someone great harm if he or she was not restrained. Therefore, the word ANTI is quite a nasty word.
