In 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” Peter here is referring to the enemy by saying he is like “a roaring lion.” I think that if I were face to face with a lion, and he let our a roar that it would be tough to not be fearful. But, in case of the devil, his ROAR IS MORE FEARSOME THAN HIS BITE! In Colossians 2:15, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he [Jesus] mad a shew of them openly; triumphing over them in it.” By means of the Cross and the resurrection, Jesus Christ stripped these demonic powers bare of the authority they once possessed. And JESUS mad a show of them openly!
