What we sing on the “spur of the moment” by the Spirit of God is fresh because it is what the Spirit is prompting us to declare at that instant. In the first part of Ephesians 5:19, you are speaking to yourself. Then you begin to speak to God. There are songs written not to bless us but to worship and praise the Lord and Savior. Sometimes, you may start out by speaking to yourself and sing yourself right into victory, singing and making melody unto the Lord.
