We need to take the Word of God and apply it in everyday life. If you aren’t doing that, then you need to begin. Theology without a practical application is not worth anything. God intends for us to use all of His Word. He gave us the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, for a purpose, to lead us and guide us into all the Truth! If we are not encouraging ourselves in the Lord, He is not going to comfort us. I don’t believe that we are baby Christians anymore, and God expects us to learn to walk. Begin by encouraging yourself in the Lord. Talk to yourself. Those moments when you’re hurt, when somebody has said something nasty or hurtful, is a time when we need to pray in tongues.
