Notice that Paul said to STUDY! Very few people STUDY the Bible. Many people just casually glance at it. There is a difference between STUDYING and READING. You can read something and not even know what you have read. When you study something, that means that you have spent some time with it. You have gone over it again and again. You have made it a part of yourself, and it has become yours. Why should we study? Not so we can show off to our friends how spiritual we are, but to show ourselves approved unto God. In other words you want to show YOUR FATHER that you are attentive to His Word.
