Remember, this is a paraphrase of Job 1:6-11. One day the angels of God, or the sons of God, came to God to make a report in heaven, and satan was in the midst. God saw satan and asked him. “Where have you been?” Satan said, “Well I’ve been going to and fro throughout the earth, seeking whom I may devour.” God asked, “Have you considered my servant Job?” The devil said, “oh, yea, I’ve been watching him closely I’ve had my eyes on him for a long time.” God said, “Yeah, but do you know that he’s perfect and upright, a man who avoids evil, and cleaves to that which is right?”
