Jesus said that the truth that you KNOW (not read) will make you free (John 8:32). That is why it vitally important that we STUDY the Word, check out what the preacher is saying…does it line up and agree with the Word of God? Think about it, church building are everywhere and within these churches are individuals who make fun of other churches beliefs and practices, regardless what the Word says because most of them don’t look to see what it says. And then there are those who say, “Well, I know that is what it says, but I don’t believe it that way.” Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to teach us and lead us into all the truth (Word)…if you have the Holy Spirit in you, then He will teach you the same thing He is teaching every other believer.
