Matthew 4:5-6, “Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him…..” Notice how quickly the devil got off the subject of rocks and bread when Jesus put that sword in his gut. He did not argue. He changed the subject IMMEDIATELY! In verse 6 notice, “And [the devil] saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written….” Look at this, the devil is QUOTING SCRIPTURE! We have an enemy, who knows and quotes the Bible. Now realize He does not understand the REVELATION of the Word of God, but he knows chapters and verses. So you may ask how can I possibly win?
